 Sizes XS-2XL

Turn-of-the-century women lingered over breakfast in this soft, pleated, closely fitted house dress or “wrapper” before struggling into their corsets. This pattern recreates this Day Dress look.  The buttoned front lining and the princess line in the back pull in the dress creating a fitted bodice, while pleats at center front and back are held in place with waist ties and simple square collar. Rounded yokes, finished with ruffles over the shoulder complete the traditional dress and may be omitted for a simple version. Full sleeves are gathered at the top and finished with simple buttoned cuffs.  The skirt, fitted over the hips, falls to a wide flounce at the ankle.

The pattern may be cut street length (contemporary) or as a blouse. For day or evening wear, the dress is perfect in challis and crisp silk as well as traditional cotton calico.

Note: This pattern is from Folkwear's former 208 Calico Day Dress.  We have increased the size range, improved the instructions, and re-released the pattern as 246 Calico Day Dress (#208 was taken by 208 Child's Kinsale Cloak over the years).

Era: late Victorian to early Edwardian

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight cotton and blends, silk, lightweight wools, rayon. Originals were made in cotton calico, percale, cashmere, sateen, challis.

All this talk of Jakku and not a single worthwhile image of it.
Format: Paperback
This was a total disorganized mess that bears no resemblance to Star Wars at all. The art is puerile at best and some characters bear a passing resemblance to Luke and Leia. The dialogue is nonsense and reads nothing like the characters would speak. The plot is a ridiculous compilation of double crosses that make no sense at all. The Imperials don’t act like Imperials and the endless plethora of new characters and planets make for an exhausting and tedious read. Finally, the story doesn’t really mesh with that other ridiculous trilogy of books by Chuck Wendig. Real Star Wars writers were needed like James Luceno or Timothy Zahn. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. Life is short. Stick to writers with a proven track record and stories that reflect Lucas’ vision not the Disney disorder. Oh for the days when Dark Horse told exciting tales and had great artists. Marvel seems to be just interested in squeezing money out of the name and not creating a meaningful legacy.

Absolute Slop
Format: Paperback
This is likely the worst Star Wars graphic novel/story in the history of the medium. Absolute slop.

Better Than The Sequel Trilogy
Format: Kindle
This comic story really helps in the effort to fix the newest movie trilogy. The comic is stellar.

A must read for Kylo fans
Format: Kindle
I'm so sad this was only about 100 pages. This gave clarity to the choppy movie origin story of Kylo Ren while filling some major movie plot holes. Angsty, heart wrenching and dark -- the perfect intro for our favorite emo space boy. The art style was really great without being too gory. Adam Driver fans will also be pretty pleased with the likeness (it's not exact, but still good).

Really good read, and leaves questions
Format: Paperback
Nice to see the Ben Solo story flushed out more than what was shown in The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker. A good job also of not explaining everything. Ben mentions something about what Skywalker did to Snoke, and then there's the Emperor himself speaking to Ben in his mind, which makes one wonder, if even the Emperor was his own voice in Ben's head, why didn't Kylo recognize him in The Rise Of Skywalker. Plenty of things left to really expand upon this very good story.
